UC Irvine Microbiome researchers well represented at the Ecological Society of America (ESA) meeting in Portland (Aug 6-11, 2017)
Allison led a session comparing plant and microbial trait approaches and Jennifer Martiny organized a session on structure-function relationships in microbial communities. Kathleen Treseder also presented new research on the distribution of fungal spore diversity. Many other UC Irvine graduate students and postdocs presented work in other sessions. Overall, it was an impressive showing of the growth of microbial ecology at this national meeting.
